Jared Stein

I’m Jared Stein, and I started Rarebird to help the world’s best ed tech startups make a positive impact on the world, faster.

In our increasingly complex world, education needs ed tech more than ever — to make difficult things simpler and seemingly impossible things achievable for teachers, students, staff, and families.

A growing number of entrepreneurs and investors are excited about ed tech because it stands to deliver both humanistic and financial returns. But this will only happen if ed techs find ways to strategize better, grow smarter, and plan for a future that will continuously delight customers and stakeholders alike.

When I work with ed techs, I leverage 12+ years as a leader in online and blended education at US universities. More importantly, I bring knowledge and experiences from 11+ years inside Instructure (Canvas LMS), one of the world’s most successful ed tech startups, from Series B through 2 IPOs.

Over the years, I’ve become a sought-after presenter and speaker on ed tech, teaching and learning, and online education.

I’m also the author of Essentials for Blended Learning: A Standards-Based Guide, now in it’s 2nd edition.
